Harbor Claims will work with you during the entire claims process. Once you report a claim, you will hear back from one of our professional adjusters within 24 hours.
Learn More About the Claims Process Below
You may file a claim by filling out an online form, through your agent or broker, or by calling our toll-free number. If your property is damaged, we would like to know about it as soon as possible.
After your claim is received and a representative has been assigned, you will then be contacted to discuss the claim. If an inspection of the loss is required, the representative will arrange a date and time for the inspection.
Once the adjuster has inspected the loss, collected information from you, and reviewed pertinent documents (including but not limited to receipts, estimates, and photos) a report will be submitted for review.
In the review process, the adjuster will check appropriate coverage with the terms and conditions of the policy as they relate to the damages incurred.
Payment will be issued less than the applicable deductible. In some instances, there are coverage restrictions on certain kinds of loss. If it is determined there is not coverage for the loss, or the damage is less than the deductible, you will receive a letter of explanation.

What to do after a loss
Take all steps necessary to protect yourself and your family. If the authorities order an evacuation, follow their instructions; your safety is the most important goal. If you have to evacuate your home, please keep all receipts for expenses you incur while you cannot live in your home.
Take temporary steps to protect your property from further damage and take pictures of the damage. For example, you should cover exposed property with a tarp and keep receipts for any temporary repairs.
Contact us at 866-482-5246 or your insurance company through the links on the previous page immediately after the loss. The quicker you let us know, the sooner we can work with you to limit the extent of the damages and settle your claim. Our claims representatives will want to know the facts of the loss, including how it occurred, when, what and where it occurred, and who may have been involved or witnessed the incident that caused the loss.
For all thefts, please call the police and advise them of the items that were stolen. You should immediately report all stolen credit cards to your credit card company. In the event of a loss to your personal property, your videos, photographs, manuals, model names, serial numbers, and store information where the items were purchased are helpful to quickly settle your claim.

How long does it take to settle a claim?
Many claims can be settled under 30 days; however, claims that involve extensive damage can take longer. Your cooperation during the claims process helps facilitate the settlement of your claim. After a hurricane or other catastrophic event, it often takes additional time to resolve the claim due to the greater demand for contractors, roofers, and other damage specialists.
